This morning in my devotional time, I read these words. "God said, 'I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenenat between me and the earth'" (Genesis 9:13). As soon as I read them the word "promise" struck something deep in me.
I thought of God's promises... I will be with you. All things work together for good. Today you will be with me in Paradise. I thought of songs we've sung - Great is Your Faithfullness. True are your promises. And I remembered this picture I took recently of the biggest rainbow I have ever seen spanning directly over our home.
The image seems signficant. With so many challenges in our world and our lives, we need to be reminded that God is still with us, for us and loves us... enough to give us his own son Jesus.
Too often I waiver on keeping my promises, and sometime I fail. But God never does! He is the ultimate Promise Keeper. And by his grace, you and I can be promise-keepers, too!
Discussion Question:
What promises has God kept in your life? How does God's faithfullness inspire you to be a better promise-keeper?
God has kept ALL of his promises in my life. I am grateful to have breath today and all the days he has given me thus far!! I know tomorrow is not promised, but I have learned to value that a bit more in the past few years than I used to. Each day is a precious gift and although I don't get them all right, I'm glad I get them. Here is to everyone experiencing the abundance of life God has promised us to live into....Are you?
